ReelCiety Bot & Automation Rules for API Users

This policy governs the design, deployment, and operation of automated systems, bots, scripts, and software agents interacting with ReelCiety through APIs, integrations, or automated access. It exists to protect platform integrity, users, creators, advertisers, and Nexa-Group from manipulation, abuse, and systemic risk.

1. Purpose & Policy Objectives

Automated systems can provide value when responsibly designed, but they also pose significant risks including spam, misinformation amplification, market manipulation, harassment at scale, and infrastructure abuse. This policy establishes strict boundaries to ensure automation supports legitimate use cases without harming users or public trust.

2. Definition of Bots & Automated Systems

For purposes of this policy, a “bot” or automated system includes any software that performs actions on ReelCiety without direct, continuous human control, including:

  • Automated posting or scheduling tools
  • Engagement automation (likes, comments, follows)
  • Content scraping or data harvesting tools
  • AI agents generating or modifying content
  • Monitoring, moderation, or analytics bots

3. Permitted Automation Use Cases

Automation may be permitted for clearly defined, approved purposes such as:

  • Creator publishing and scheduling tools
  • Moderation assistance and compliance monitoring
  • Enterprise analytics and reporting dashboards
  • Accessibility tools for users with disabilities
  • Security monitoring and abuse detection

All permitted automation must be transparent, rate-limited, and aligned with user expectations and platform rules.

4. Prohibited Automated Behavior

The following automated activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Artificial amplification of content or engagement metrics
  • Mass following, unfollowing, liking, or commenting
  • Astroturfing, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or manipulation
  • Scraping user data beyond authorized API scopes
  • Operating undisclosed bots impersonating humans
  • Automated harassment, targeting, or intimidation

5. Transparency & Disclosure Requirements

Automated accounts must be clearly disclosed where applicable. Users should not be misled into believing automated behavior represents independent human expression.

  • Bot-operated accounts may require labeling
  • AI-generated content must follow disclosure rules
  • Misrepresentation of automation is grounds for enforcement

6. Rate Limits & Behavioral Constraints

All automated systems are subject to strict rate limits and behavioral constraints designed to mimic reasonable human activity patterns.

  • Action frequency caps
  • Daily and hourly quotas
  • Dynamic throttling during abuse events

7. Account Creation & Identity Controls

Automation may not be used to create or manage multiple accounts without explicit written approval from Nexa-Group.

  • No bulk account creation
  • No account farms or identity obfuscation
  • No evasion of verification systems

8. Security & Authentication Requirements

Automated systems must adhere to strict security standards:

  • Use of OAuth or approved authentication mechanisms
  • Secure storage of tokens and credentials
  • No client-side exposure of secrets

9. AI & Machine Learning Systems

AI-powered automation must be designed to avoid harmful bias, manipulation, or deceptive practices. Training models on ReelCiety data requires explicit permission and compliance with privacy laws.

10. Monitoring, Auditing & Logging

Developers must maintain logs of automated activity sufficient to:

  • Investigate abuse or anomalies
  • Demonstrate compliance during audits
  • Support incident response investigations

11. Enforcement & Penalties

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Rate limiting or feature restrictions
  • Suspension or revocation of API access
  • Removal of automated accounts
  • Legal action where applicable

12. Incident Reporting Obligations

Developers must promptly report any suspected misuse, compromise, or unintended harmful behavior caused by automation.

13. Policy Updates

ReelCiety may update this policy to address emerging threats, regulatory changes, or platform evolution. Continued use of automation constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
