Blocking, Muting & Restriction Rights

1. Purpose & User Empowerment

ReelCiety is built around visual expression and social interaction, but no user is required to tolerate harassment, unwanted attention, or harmful behavior. Blocking, muting, and restriction tools empower users to control their environment without requiring platform intervention in every case.

These rights are designed to be immediate, reversible (where appropriate), and enforceable across all ReelCiety surfaces and features.

2. Blocking Rights

Blocking is the strongest user-controlled safety mechanism available on ReelCiety. When a user blocks another account:

• The blocked account cannot view the user’s profile or content.
• The blocked account cannot send messages or interact.
• Existing interactions may be hidden or removed.
• The blocked user is not notified of the action.

Blocking is absolute unless reversed by the user. ReelCiety systems enforce blocking across comments, messages, mentions, tags, lives, and future interactions.

3. Muting Rights

Muting allows users to hide content from specific accounts without alerting the muted party. Muted users may still interact publicly, but their content is suppressed from the muting user’s experience.

• Muted posts do not appear in feeds.
• Muted stories, reels, and comments are hidden.
• Muted accounts are unaware of the action.

Muting is intended for personal content curation and conflict avoidance rather than enforcement.

4. Restriction Controls

Restriction tools provide intermediate controls between muting and blocking. Restricted accounts may:

• Have comments visible only to themselves.
• Be prevented from triggering notifications.
• Be excluded from live interactions.

Restrictions are particularly useful for managing borderline harassment or repetitive unwanted engagement without escalation.

5. Comment & Interaction Filtering

Users may configure automated filters that supplement blocking and muting, including:

• Keyword-based comment blocking
• Follower-only comment rules
• Approval-required comments
• Temporary interaction limits

6. Messaging Controls

Blocking and restriction tools apply fully to direct messaging. Users may:

• Block unsolicited messages
• Restrict message requests
• Mute message threads
• Disable messaging entirely

7. Enforcement Integrity

ReelCiety treats abuse of blocking systems seriously. Attempts to bypass blocks through alternate accounts, automation, or coordinated harassment may result in enforcement actions including:

• Account suspension
• Permanent bans
• Device or network restrictions

8. Anti-Retaliation Protections

Users are protected from retaliation for using safety tools. Harassment, threats, or abuse following a block or restriction may be escalated for platform enforcement or legal review.

9. Visibility & Transparency

ReelCiety does not notify users when they are blocked, muted, or restricted. This prevents escalation, retaliation, or manipulation of safety features.

10. Interaction With Moderation Systems

User-initiated blocks and restrictions operate independently from moderation actions. However, repeated blocks against an account may inform internal risk assessments and safety reviews.

11. Children & Vulnerable Users

Enhanced blocking and restriction defaults apply to minor accounts and users identified as vulnerable, including stricter interaction limits and reduced discoverability.

12. Legal & Regulatory Alignment

Blocking and restriction rights support compliance with global safety and privacy regulations, including online safety frameworks, harassment laws, and child protection standards.

13. Limitations & Exceptions

In limited circumstances, such as lawful investigations or platform safety obligations, certain interactions may be preserved for evidence while remaining hidden from the user experience.

14. Updates to This Policy

ReelCiety may update blocking and restriction tools to improve safety, usability, or compliance. Significant changes will be communicated through policy updates.
