Friendium Rate Limiting & Abuse Prevention Policy

This Rate Limiting & Abuse Prevention Policy defines the technical, behavioral, and enforcement controls Friendium uses to protect platform integrity, availability, and user safety from spam, automation abuse, scraping, denial-of-service attacks, and coordinated manipulation.

1. Policy Purpose & Platform Stability

Friendium operates a large-scale, real-identity social platform that depends on fair access, predictable performance, and trust. Rate limiting and abuse prevention mechanisms are essential to:

  • Maintain service availability and uptime
  • Prevent spam, fraud, and manipulation
  • Protect users from harassment and automated abuse
  • Safeguard infrastructure and data systems
  • Ensure equitable access to platform features

2. Scope of Application

This policy applies to all Friendium services, including:

  • Web and mobile applications
  • Account registration and authentication systems
  • Messaging, posting, commenting, and reactions
  • Search, discovery, and content distribution
  • APIs, integrations, and automated access points

3. Rate Limiting Fundamentals

Rate limits restrict the frequency and volume of actions a user, device, IP address, or account may perform within defined time windows.

Limits may apply to:

  • Login attempts
  • Account creation
  • Posting and commenting
  • Messaging and friend requests
  • Search queries
  • API calls and automation endpoints

4. Dynamic & Adaptive Controls

Friendium uses adaptive systems that adjust limits based on:

  • Account age and trust signals
  • Behavioral patterns
  • Historical compliance
  • Geographic and network indicators
  • Risk scoring and anomaly detection

Limits may be increased, reduced, or temporarily suspended without notice to mitigate abuse or protect the platform.

5. Abuse Categories Addressed

Rate limiting and abuse prevention systems are designed to detect and mitigate:

  • Spam posting and comment flooding
  • Mass friend requests or message spam
  • Credential stuffing and brute-force attacks
  • Automated scraping and data harvesting
  • Fake engagement and interaction manipulation
  • Coordinated inauthentic behavior
  • Denial-of-service and traffic flooding attempts

6. Automation & Bot Activity

Unauthorized automation, bots, or scripts interacting with Friendium are prohibited unless explicitly approved.

Indicators of abusive automation include:

  • High-frequency repetitive actions
  • Non-human interaction timing
  • API misuse or evasion of controls
  • Behavior inconsistent with normal user patterns

7. Enforcement Actions

When rate limits are exceeded or abuse is detected, Friendium may apply one or more of the following actions:

  • Temporary action throttling
  • Feature limitations
  • Captcha or verification challenges
  • Session termination
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account disablement
  • Network or IP blocking

8. User Notification & Transparency

Users may receive notifications when actions are limited. However, Friendium is not required to disclose specific thresholds, detection methods, or internal risk signals.

9. False Positives & Review

Friendium acknowledges that automated systems may occasionally restrict legitimate activity. Users may appeal enforcement actions through the appropriate support channels.

Repeated triggering of rate limits may still result in enforcement even if individual actions are lawful.

10. API & Developer Considerations

Developers accessing Friendium services through APIs are subject to separate rate limits and usage quotas. Abuse or circumvention may result in immediate revocation of access.

11. Security & Infrastructure Protection

Rate limiting is integrated with Friendium’s broader security posture, including:

  • Traffic monitoring and anomaly detection
  • DDoS mitigation services
  • Firewall and edge protection
  • Behavioral analytics and threat intelligence

12. Legal & Compliance Alignment

Abuse prevention measures are implemented in compliance with applicable laws, privacy obligations, and Nexa-Group governance standards.

13. Policy Evolution

Friendium may modify rate limiting thresholds, enforcement logic, or abuse detection mechanisms at any time to respond to emerging threats.
