ReelCiety Bot & Fake Account Detection Policy

This policy outlines how ReelCiety detects, evaluates, restricts, and removes automated, fake, deceptive, or impersonating accounts that threaten platform integrity, user trust, public discourse, and regulatory compliance.

1. Purpose & Scope

ReelCiety is designed to support authentic expression and genuine social interaction. Automated or fake accounts distort engagement metrics, enable abuse, facilitate fraud, and undermine confidence in the platform.

This policy establishes enterprise-grade standards to:

  • Detect and mitigate automated and deceptive behavior
  • Protect users from scams, misinformation, and impersonation
  • Preserve integrity of feeds, discovery, and analytics
  • Comply with global platform governance and election integrity laws
  • Reduce legal, financial, and reputational risk to Nexa-Group

2. Definitions

For purposes of this policy:

  • Bot Account: An account operated primarily by automated systems.
  • Fake Account: An account misrepresenting identity, intent, or control.
  • Inauthentic Behavior: Coordinated or deceptive actions that mislead users.
  • Automation Abuse: Use of scripts or tools outside approved APIs.

3. Prohibited Account Types

  • Accounts impersonating real individuals or organizations
  • Mass-created accounts used for engagement inflation
  • Accounts operated by click farms or engagement services
  • Accounts designed to distribute spam, scams, or malware
  • Covert political or influence operation accounts

4. Permitted Automation

Automation is permitted only when:

  • Using officially documented ReelCiety APIs
  • Clearly disclosing automated behavior where required
  • Complying with rate limits and platform rules
  • Not simulating human engagement deceptively

5. Detection Methodologies
