ReelCiety Reporting Center Policy
This Reporting Center Policy explains how users, rights holders, and third parties can report content, accounts, or behavior on ReelCiety, and how such reports are reviewed, processed, escalated, and enforced in accordance with platform rules and applicable law.
1. Purpose of the Reporting Center
ReelCiety’s Reporting Center exists to protect users, creators, and the public by enabling timely identification and response to harmful, abusive, illegal, or policy-violating content and behavior. Reporting tools are a critical component of our safety infrastructure and complement automated detection and proactive moderation systems.
2. Who Can Submit Reports
Reports may be submitted by:
- Registered ReelCiety users.
- Individuals affected by the reported content.
- Parents or guardians reporting issues involving minors.
- Rights holders or authorized representatives.
- Trusted partners, NGOs, or safety organizations.
3. Types of Reportable Issues
The Reporting Center accepts reports related to, but not limited to:
- Harassment, bullying, or hate speech.
- Threats of violence or extremist content.
- Self-harm or suicide-related content.
- Sexual exploitation or child safety concerns.
- Impersonation or identity misuse.
- Privacy violations, doxxing, or unauthorized data sharing.
- Graphic, disturbing, or sensitive media.
- Copyright or intellectual property violations.
- Fraud, scams, or deceptive practices.
4. How to Submit a Report
Users may submit reports through:
- In-app reporting tools attached to posts, profiles, or messages.
- The dedicated Reporting Center interface.
- Specialized reporting channels for legal, copyright, or child safety issues.
Reports should include sufficient information such as URLs, screenshots, descriptions, and relevant context to enable effective review.
5. Confidentiality & Reporter Protection
ReelCiety takes reporter privacy seriously. Reports are handled confidentially and, where legally permissible, the identity of the reporting party is not disclosed to the reported user. Retaliation against reporters is strictly prohibited and may result in enforcement action.
6. Review & Moderation Process
All reports undergo a structured review process that may include:
- Automated triage and prioritization.
- Human review by trained moderation specialists.
- Contextual analysis of content, behavior, and history.
- Escalation to specialized teams when required.
7. Priority & Emergency Handling
Certain reports are treated as high priority, including:
- Credible threats of violence or imminent harm.
- Child sexual exploitation or abuse material.
- Severe harassment or stalking.
- Emergency situations involving self-harm or suicide risk.
These cases may be escalated to emergency response teams or law enforcement where required by law.
8. Enforcement Outcomes
Following review, ReelCiety may take actions including:
- No action if no violation is found.
- Content removal or visibility restriction.
- Account warnings or feature limitations.
- Temporary suspension.
- Permanent account termination.
9. Notification & Transparency
Where appropriate, reporters and affected users may receive notifications regarding the outcome of a report. Some details may be limited to protect privacy, safety, or ongoing investigations.
10. Appeals & Disputes
Users who believe enforcement action was taken in error may submit an appeal. Appeals are reviewed independently and decisions are final.
11. Abuse of Reporting Systems
Misuse of reporting tools, including false or malicious reporting, mass-reporting campaigns, or attempts to silence others, is prohibited and may result in enforcement action.
12. Legal & Regulatory Cooperation
ReelCiety cooperates with lawful requests from authorities and complies with applicable reporting obligations under child protection, online safety, and criminal law frameworks.
13. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in platform features, legal requirements, or emerging safety risks.
