Unauthorized Contact & Abuse Policy

This policy defines what constitutes unauthorized or abusive contact on Vibble, including DMs, replies, mentions, and other forms of direct interaction, and explains how such behavior is enforced against.

1. Definition of Unauthorized Contact

“Unauthorized Contact” means persistent or aggressive attempts to communicate with someone who has clearly indicated they do not wish to be contacted, or contact that violates legal or safety standards. It covers:

  • Repeated DMs after being blocked or asked to stop
  • Creating new accounts to continue contact after a block
  • Harassing replies and mentions targeting a specific user
  • Stalking behavior, including tracking online activity to intimidate

2. Abusive Contact Behaviors

Abusive contact includes, but is not limited to:

  • Threats of violence or self-harm directed at another user
  • Sexual harassment, explicit propositions, or unsolicited explicit media
  • Hate speech, slurs, or abusive targeting based on protected characteristics
  • Doxxing, blackmail, or extortion attempts

3. Contact with Minors

Adults are strictly prohibited from engaging in sexualized or exploitative contact with minors. This includes:

  • Sexual or romantic propositions
  • Requests for personal contact information, private photos, or meetups
  • Attempts to move conversations to encrypted or external platforms for exploitation

Such behavior is treated as a severe violation and may be reported to law enforcement and child protection agencies.

4. Coordinated Harassment Campaigns

Vibble prohibits targeted harassment campaigns, where multiple accounts coordinate to:

  • Mass mention or reply to a specific individual to intimidate them
  • Organize dogpiling, brigading, or mob harassment
  • Signal-boost harmful content with the goal of causing distress or harm

5. Enforcement Actions

Unauthorized contact and abuse can result in:

  • DM restrictions or full DM bans
  • Limits on mentions, replies, and quote-posts
  • Temporary account suspensions
  • Permanent bans for repeated or severe violations
  • Escalation to law enforcement where safety is at risk

6. User Responsibilities

Users are encouraged to:

  • Respect other users’ boundaries and clearly stated preferences
  • Use blocking and muting tools instead of engaging with harassment
  • Report serious incidents, including threats, doxxing, or exploitation

7. Appeals & Review

Users sanctioned for unauthorized contact may appeal via the Appeals System, providing relevant context. Vibble will review whether enforcement was appropriate, considering message history, blocks, and prior warnings.
