Brand Safety & Misuse Reporting

This policy explains how Vibble protects brands, organizations, and advertisers from misuse, impersonation, unsafe adjacency, fraud, and association with harmful content — and how to report brand-related issues for review and enforcement.

1. Purpose & Scope

Vibble is a real-time public conversation platform used by individuals, brands, public-sector organizations, and media outlets. Brand safety is critical to trust in the platform and to the integrity of organizational participation.

This policy applies to:

  • Verified and non-verified brand accounts
  • Government and public-sector accounts
  • Media, NGOs, educational and enterprise accounts
  • Advertisers and sponsors using Vibble’s ad systems

2. Brand Safety Objectives

Vibble’s brand safety program is designed to:

  • Prevent association of brands with illegal or severely harmful content
  • Mitigate adjacency to hate, extremism, or graphic violence in ads and recommendations
  • Stop impersonation, fraudulent use, and deceptive brand presence
  • Provide clear and fast reporting channels for brand owners
  • Enable transparent review, audit trails, and remediation options

3. Unsafe Content Categories for Brands

Vibble takes stricter action when brand content, ad placements, or official accounts are associated with certain high-risk categories, including:

  • Hate speech, slurs, or hate-based organizations
  • Extremist propaganda, terrorism, or violent radicalization
  • Graphic violence, gore, or glorification of violence
  • Sexual exploitation, CSAM, or sexual content involving minors
  • Fraud, scams, or deceptive financial schemes
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns against individuals or groups
  • Severe misinformation that may cause real-world harm

Content in these categories may be removed, restricted, or excluded from monetization and ad adjacency, with or without brand-specific reporting.

4. Brand Impersonation & Misuse

Strictly prohibited behavior includes:

  • Creating accounts that impersonate brands, logos, or official names
  • Using brand trademarks or logos without authorization in profile names or avatars
  • Falsely claiming endorsement, partnership, or sponsorship
  • Operating “fake customer support” or scam accounts posing as brands
  • Using brand identities to run phishing, fraud, or data-collection schemes

Verified brands benefit from additional protections and expedited enforcement, but this policy also applies to non-verified brand entities.

5. Unsafe Ad Adjacency & Placement Controls

For advertisers and enterprise partners, Vibble provides brand safety controls such as:

  • Exclusion lists for specific keywords, topics, or accounts
  • Category-level exclusions (e.g., politics, mature topics, crises)
  • Automated filters preventing ad placement next to high-risk content
  • Real-time monitoring and removal of ads from newly flagged content

Vibble continually updates brand safety models to reflect trending risks and abuse patterns.

6. Brand Safety Settings for Organizations

Verified organizations and enterprise accounts may configure:

  • Reply controls and mention filters
  • Keyword and phrase filters for replies and quote posts
  • Geo-targeted restriction of certain posts or campaigns
  • Team-based access controls and approval workflows

7. How to Report Brand Misuse

Brand misuse and safety issues can be reported via:

  • In-app reporting: use the report menu on profiles, posts, or ads and select options such as “Impersonation,” “Brand misuse,” or “Fraud.”
  • Brand Safety Email: send detailed reports with URLs, screenshots, and description of the issue.
  • Enterprise Support Channels: for contracted partners with dedicated account managers.

Misuse reports should include: account handles, URLs, timestamps, evidence of impersonation or harm, and any reference documentation (e.g., trademark certificates, official website links).

8. Investigation & Enforcement Process

When a brand safety complaint is received, Vibble typically follows this process:

  1. Intake & Triage: classify the issue (impersonation, adjacency, abuse, fraud).
  2. Verification: confirm brand ownership and authenticity via documents or domain verification.
  3. Content & Account Review: review reported material and related activity.
  4. Action: remove content, restrict or suspend accounts, adjust ad placement, or apply labels.
  5. Notification: inform the reporting brand of major decisions where applicable.

Severe cases, such as fraud or widespread impersonation, may be escalated to law enforcement or relevant regulatory bodies where legally appropriate.

9. Penalties for Brand Misuse

Accounts engaging in brand misuse may face:

  • Content removal and label application (e.g., “Parody” or “Unofficial” where appropriate)
  • Loss of features (posting, messaging, link sharing)
  • Temporary or permanent account suspension
  • Revocation of verification or badge status
  • API key termination for automated systems involved in abuse

10. Brand Safety for Users & Public

Brand safety is not only for enterprises; it also protects users from fraud and deception. Vibble uses brand policies to:

  • Reduce scam and phishing attempts involving fake brands
  • Provide clear official badges for verified organizations
  • Avoid user confusion about which accounts are authoritative
  • Label parody and satire accounts to prevent misleading impersonation

11. Data & Privacy in Brand Investigations

Brand misuse investigations may involve review of public content, limited internal metadata, and moderation histories. Any processing of personal data will comply with Vibble’s Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement, and applicable law.

12. Escalation & Enterprise Support

Verified organizations and enterprise clients may request escalation for critical brand incidents, such as:

  • Large-scale impersonation or phishing campaigns
  • Coordinated harassment targeting the brand or staff
  • Misleading association with crises, disasters, or criminal activity

These cases are routed to specialized Trust & Safety and Enterprise Support teams.

13. Collaboration with Law Enforcement & Regulators

When misuse includes fraud, financial crime, or serious safety risks, Vibble may cooperate with law enforcement under its Law Enforcement Request Guide and Government Requests Terms & Process. Any disclosures will respect user privacy laws and require a valid legal basis.
