Vibble Reposts Policy

This policy explains how reposts (simple shares of other users’ posts) work on Vibble, how they affect visibility, and what constitutes abusive or manipulative repost behavior.

1. Purpose of Reposts

Reposts allow users to:

  • Share content they find informative, interesting, or entertaining.
  • Help surface important information, including news and public alerts.
  • Participate in conversations by amplifying relevant posts.

2. Responsibility for Reposted Content

When you repost content:

  • You signal amplification and distribution to your followers.
  • You do not become the original author, but your account can still be scrutinized for repeated sharing of harmful content.
  • Reposting content that clearly violates policies (e.g., hate speech, CSAM, threats) may result in enforcement against your account as well.

3. Prohibited Repost Behavior

Users may not:

  • Mass-repost content as part of coordinated manipulation campaigns or “brigades”.
  • Use repost automation or scripts without authorization.
  • Repost harmful content repeatedly after it has already been labeled, restricted, or removed.
  • Repost content for the purpose of encouraging harassment or threats toward the original author.

4. Manipulative Amplification & Networks

Vibble actively detects and limits:

  • Clusters of accounts that systematically repost identical content to artificially inflate reach.
  • Repost rings used to “launder” misinformation or abusive content.
  • Paid or undisclosed repost campaigns when they should be labeled as sponsored or political content.

5. Algorithmic Treatment

Vibble’s systems may:

  • Reduce visibility of content whose distribution is driven primarily by suspicious repost patterns.
  • Down-rank reposts from accounts with a history of policy violations.
  • In some cases, show context labels or fact-check information alongside heavily reposted content.

6. Enforcement & Sanctions

Abusive repost behavior can lead to:

  • Temporary limitations on repost functionality.
  • Removal of individual reposts.
  • Account-level enforcement (warnings, restrictions, suspensions) for repeat or coordinated abuse.

7. User Tools & Controls

Vibble provides ways to manage reposts:

  • Users may limit who can repost their content in certain features (as available).
  • Users can mute reposts from specific accounts or topics.
  • Users can report reposts that amplify harmful content or misinformation.

8. Appeals

If your repost was removed or your repost privileges were restricted and you believe this was an error, you may appeal:

  • Appeals: appeals@vibble.org
  • Support: support@vibble.org
