Satire, Parody & Fan Account Policy

This policy clarifies how Vibble treats satire, parody, and fan accounts, and sets rules to prevent confusion, deception, and impersonation.

1. Support for Satire & Parody

Vibble recognizes satire, parody, and fan expression as legitimate forms of speech and creativity. However, these accounts must not mislead users into believing they are official or authentic representatives of real people, brands, or organizations.

2. Required Disclosures

To reduce confusion, parody, satire, and fan accounts must:

  • Include clear terms in the profile name or bio such as “parody”, “satire”, “fan account”, or “unofficial”.
  • Ensure the overall presentation (bio, banner, handle) does not strongly suggest official status.
  • Avoid using identical profile photos and names without any differentiating context.

3. Prohibited Behaviors

The following is not allowed:

  • Using satire or parody as a cover for targeted harassment or hate.
  • Impersonating individuals in ways likely to cause harm or real-world confusion.
  • Leveraging fan or parody status for scams, phishing, or financial fraud.
  • Using nearly identical account names and photos with no disclaimer.

4. Labels & User Warnings

Where appropriate, Vibble may apply labels indicating that an account is “parody”, “satire”, or “fan-run” to provide additional context to users, particularly in high-risk scenarios involving political or public-figure impersonation.

5. Enforcement & Escalation

Accounts that fail to clearly disclose parody or cause significant confusion may be:

  • Required to update their name, bio, or profile image to add clarity.
  • Restricted from participating in certain conversations.
  • Suspended for repeated or malicious impersonation.

Severe cases may trigger Impersonation Enforcement Rules and may result in permanent suspension.

6. Relationship to Verification & Labels

Parody or fan accounts are not eligible for government or organization badges. In rare cases, satirical media outlets may receive context labels but must still avoid deceptive identity practices.
