ReelCiety Doxxing & Privacy Abuse Prevention Policy
This policy defines ReelCiety’s zero-tolerance approach to doxxing, privacy abuse, and the misuse of personal information. It establishes clear rules, enforcement mechanisms, and escalation procedures to protect individuals from harassment, intimidation, and real-world harm.
1. Purpose & Scope
ReelCiety is committed to protecting user privacy and personal safety. Doxxing and privacy abuse can lead to harassment, stalking, violence, and long-term psychological harm. This policy applies to all content, interactions, and metadata shared on the platform, including images, videos, captions, comments, usernames, and profile information.
2. Definitions
- Doxxing: Publishing or threatening to publish private or identifying information about an individual without consent.
- Personal Data: Information that can identify a person, directly or indirectly.
- Privacy Abuse: Misuse of personal data to harass, intimidate, or coerce.
- Targeted Exposure: Coordinated efforts to reveal private details to cause harm.
3. Prohibited Information
The following content is strictly prohibited, regardless of intent:
- Home addresses, precise locations, or GPS coordinates.
- Phone numbers, private email addresses, or messaging handles.
- Government-issued identifiers (IDs, passports, social security numbers).
- Financial information, banking details, or payment credentials.
- Private photos, documents, or communications shared without consent.
- Information about family members, children, or associates.
4. Visual Content & Metadata Risks
As a visual-first platform, ReelCiety treats images and videos with heightened scrutiny. Content that unintentionally exposes sensitive information—such as visible addresses, license plates, school names, or workplace identifiers—may be restricted or removed even if not malicious.
5. Threatening or Coercive Disclosure
Threatening to reveal personal information (“I know where you live”) is treated as a severe violation, even if no data is actually published. Such behavior may result in immediate account suspension.
6. Public Figures & Context
While some information about public figures may be publicly available, ReelCiety prohibits sharing sensitive or non-essential personal details that could expose individuals to harm. Public availability does not equal permission.
7. Coordinated Harassment Campaigns
Coordinated attempts to collect, amplify, or redistribute personal data are considered aggravated violations. Accounts participating in such activity may face permanent bans.
8. Reporting & Emergency Handling
Users can report doxxing or privacy abuse via in-app reporting tools. Reports involving credible threats or real-world risk are escalated to safety specialists for rapid review.
9. Enforcement Actions
- Immediate removal of offending content.
- Temporary or permanent account suspension.
- Restriction of posting, commenting, or messaging features.
- Preservation of evidence for legal or law enforcement requests.
10. Legal & Regulatory Cooperation
ReelCiety may cooperate with law enforcement and regulators where required by law, particularly in cases involving stalking, threats, or child safety. Disclosures follow applicable privacy and due process standards.
11. Appeals
Users may appeal enforcement actions through the designated appeals process. Appeals are reviewed with priority given to victim safety.
12. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated to address new privacy risks, emerging abuse tactics, or legal requirements. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updates.
