Harassment & Abuse Policy

This Harassment & Abuse Policy explains how Vibble addresses targeted attacks, sustained harassment, coordinated dogpiling, and other forms of abusive behavior in a high-velocity, real-time environment.

1. Purpose & Scope

Vibble is a real-time conversation network. Debate, disagreement, and sharp commentary are expected. However, harassment and abuse that aim to silence, intimidate, or cause harm are strictly prohibited.

This policy applies to all public posts, replies, quote-posts, reposts, profile content, direct messages (if enabled), and Spaces (live audio), as well as coordinated behavior across multiple accounts.

2. Definition of Harassment

Harassment is any repeated or severe behavior targeting an individual or group with the intent or effect of causing distress, fear, or humiliation. One-off incidents may be considered harassment when especially severe or combined with threats, hate, or doxxing.

3. Prohibited Harassing Behaviors

The following behaviors are not allowed on Vibble:

  • Repeated insults, slurs, or derogatory comments directly @-mentioning a user over time.
  • Encouraging others to attack, shame, or mass-report a specific person or account.
  • Posting or sharing humiliating images, screenshots, or personal information to embarrass someone.
  • Targeting a user’s mental health status, trauma, or personal tragedy for abuse.
  • Repeatedly replying to or quote-posting someone with hostile messages after being blocked/muted.
  • “Dogpiling” – coordinating or participating in large-scale harassment targeting a user.

4. Threats, Intimidation & Coercion

Vibble considers the following forms of intimidation as severe harassment and may escalate enforcement:

  • Threats of physical harm, damage to property, or harm to friends/family.
  • Threats to expose private information, intimate images, or confidential data (“sextortion”).
  • Threats to get someone fired, expelled, or harmed in real life through coordinated campaigns.
  • Coercive behavior demanding content, money, or attention under threat of exposure or ridicule.

5. Protected Groups & Intersection with Hate Speech

When harassment targets protected characteristics (race, gender, religion, etc.), it may also violate our Hate Speech Policy and be treated as a high-severity offense with accelerated enforcement, including permanent suspension.

6. Coordinated Harassment Campaigns

Vibble actively monitors for coordinated harassment or “brigading” across multiple accounts, including:

  • Coordinated call-to-action posts directing followers to harass a target.
  • Use of group DMs, lists, or Spaces to organize harassment.
  • Shared scripts or copy-paste harassment content across many accounts.

Accounts found to be orchestrating, funding, or leading such campaigns may be removed without prior warning.

7. Context, Public Figures & Criticism

Vibble allows strong criticism of ideas, institutions, and public figures, including political and corporate actors. However:

  • Criticism must not escalate into direct, targeted abuse or threats.
  • Public figures still retain protection from doxxing, threats, and sustained harassment.
  • We consider context, newsworthiness, and public-interest factors while enforcing.

8. Enforcement Actions

Depending on severity and history, Vibble may:

  • Remove offending posts, images, or Spaces.
  • Apply reply, mention, or messaging restrictions.
  • Temporarily suspend accounts for repeated harassment.
  • Permanently ban accounts involved in serious or coordinated abuse.

9. User Tools & Controls

To protect themselves, users can:

  • Block or mute accounts that engage in unwanted contact.
  • Enable mention filters and keyword mutes.
  • Limit who can reply to posts (where supported).
  • Report harassment directly from posts, profiles, or DMs.

10. Reporting Harassment

Users should report harassment through in-app tools or via email for complex cases. Include URLs, screenshots, and context where possible.

12. Updates to This Policy

As harassment patterns evolve, this policy may be updated. Vibble will refine detection and enforcement methods to better protect users while preserving legitimate debate and criticism.
