Blocking, Muting & Restriction Rules

This policy describes how blocking, muting, and other interaction restrictions work on Vibble, and how users can use these tools to control their experience and protect themselves from abuse.

1. Overview

Vibble provides several user-level controls so individuals can shape their own experience: blocking, muting, restricting, and customizing interactions. These tools empower users to avoid unwanted contact without requiring formal policy enforcement in every case.

2. Blocking

When you block an account, the following typically occurs:

  • The blocked account can no longer follow you or view your posts (subject to public visibility rules)
  • The blocked account cannot send you DMs, replies, or mentions
  • Existing DMs may be hidden or archived for your safety
  • You will no longer see their content in your timelines or notifications

Blocked users may still see limited public content via non-logged-in views, depending on your privacy settings and local law.

3. Muting

Muting is a softer control than blocking. When you mute:

  • You stop seeing that account’s posts and replies in your timeline
  • You may still receive DMs unless separately restricted
  • The muted account is not notified that they have been muted

Muting is useful for reducing noise or de-prioritizing certain conversations without severing all interaction.

4. Restricted Mode

Restriction may limit how an account can interact with you without fully blocking them. For example:

  • Their replies may be visible only to themselves unless you approve them
  • Their DMs may go into a separate “Restricted” folder
  • Their ability to tag or mention you may be limited

5. Lists, Filters & Keyword Controls

Beyond account-level actions, you can:

  • Use keyword filters to hide posts containing specific words or phrases
  • Filter notifications to only show activity from people you follow
  • Turn off mentions from newly created accounts or unverified accounts

6. No Retaliation or Harassment

Using multiple accounts to bypass blocks, continue harassment, or stalk people is prohibited. Vibble may:

  • Enforce bans on multiple linked accounts
  • Apply device or IP-based limits in severe cases
  • Remove content that encourages targeted harassment of blocked users

7. Abuse of Blocking & Reporting Tools

While users are free to block and mute for personal reasons, abusing these tools (for example, in coordinated attempts to silence others or manipulate moderation systems) may violate the platform’s manipulation and abuse policies.
