De-boosting & Downranking Disclosures

This policy explains when Vibble reduces the visibility of content or accounts without removing them, and how those actions are disclosed to users where appropriate.

1. What Is Downranking?

Downranking refers to reducing the visibility of certain posts or accounts in feeds, search, trends, and recommendations when they violate policies but do not meet removal thresholds.

2. Reasons for Downranking

  • Borderline hate speech or harassment
  • Misleading or harmful political content
  • Spam-like behavior or low-quality engagement
  • Graphic but educational content
  • Accounts with repeated policy violations

3. Areas Where Downranking Applies

  • Main feed visibility
  • Search results
  • Trending topics
  • Explore Page recommendations

4. Disclosure to Users

When possible, Vibble informs users of reduced visibility by:

  • Providing in-app notices for creators
  • Adding contextual warnings to affected posts
  • Displaying a “limited visibility” tag in creator tools

5. What Is Never Downranked

Vibble never downranks content based on:

  • Political ideology by itself
  • Race, religion, gender, or personal attributes
  • Criticism of Vibble or Nexa-Group
  • Whistleblowing or public-interest reporting

6. Appeals

Users may appeal if they believe downranking was applied in error.
