Political Misinformation Policy

This policy explains how Vibble manages election-related and political misinformation, while preserving open political debate and freedom of expression.

1. Scope

Political content includes discussion of elections, voting procedures, political parties, candidates, public policy, government institutions, and civic processes.

2. Prohibited Political Misinformation

Vibble may remove content that:

  • Provides false information about voting dates, locations, or eligibility requirements.
  • Misleads users about how to cast a valid vote (e.g., non-existent online voting systems).
  • Discourages voting through deception, threats, or intimidation.
  • Impersonates official election authorities or spreads fake “official” announcements.

3. Labels & Reduced Reach

For other political claims that are disputed or unverified, we may:

  • Attach informational labels or links to authoritative election resources.
  • Reduce amplification in recommendations, trends, and search.
  • Surface additional context from verified or official sources.

4. Political Ads & Monetization

Political advertising and monetization rules are defined in the Election Integrity & Political Content Policy and related advertising documentation. Additional restrictions may apply in regions with strict laws.

5. Coordinated Influence & Inauthentic Behavior

Vibble prohibits covert, coordinated political influence operations, including state-sponsored or organized manipulation of public conversation via fake accounts or bots.

6. Reporting Political Misinformation

Users can report political misinformation directly from posts using relevant report categories.

Election Integrity: elections@vibble.org
Compliance: compliance@vibble.org

7. Policy Evolution

Political misinformation policies will be refined for upcoming election cycles and to comply with emerging law, including DSA-like regimes and national electoral regulations.
