The ReelCiety User Safety Center explains how we protect our community, provide tools for personal safety, respond to harmful behavior, and support users experiencing abuse, harassment, or crisis. Safety is a shared responsibility supported by technology, trained reviewers, and clear policies.
1. Our Safety Commitment
ReelCiety is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and secure environment. We apply layered protections—preventive design, automated detection, and human review—to reduce harm and respond swiftly when issues arise.
2. What the Safety Center Covers
- Reporting harmful or illegal content.
- Blocking, muting, and restricting interactions.
- Protecting minors and vulnerable users.
- Responding to threats, violence, and self-harm content.
- Privacy protection and anti-doxxing measures.
3. Reporting Tools
Users can report content, accounts, or messages directly from posts, profiles, or messages. Reports are triaged by severity and routed to trained safety teams.
- Harassment, hate, or threats.
- Child safety concerns.
- Graphic or sensitive media.
- Misinformation during crises.
- Impersonation or fraud.
4. Blocking, Muting & Restricting
Users control their experience through account-level tools:
- Block: Prevents interaction and visibility.
- Mute: Hides content without notifying the other party.
- Restrict: Limits comments and messages with reduced visibility.
5. Protection of Minors
Safety of minors is a top priority. ReelCiety applies stricter defaults for underage users, enhanced moderation, and immediate escalation of suspected exploitation or grooming.
6. Self-Harm & Crisis Support
Content indicating self-harm or suicidal ideation may be limited and reviewed. We provide in-app resources and encourage users to seek professional help. In imminent risk cases, escalation protocols apply.
7. Threats, Violence & Emergencies
Credible threats of violence or real-world harm are treated as emergencies. Content may be preserved for investigation, and appropriate authorities may be notified in accordance with law.
8. Privacy & Doxxing Protection
Sharing private information without consent is prohibited. The Safety Center provides guidance on protecting personal data and reporting violations.
9. Review Process & Timelines
Reports are reviewed using a risk-based approach. High-risk cases are prioritized. Actions may include content removal, account restrictions, or bans.
10. Appeals
Users may appeal enforcement decisions through the designated appeals process. Appeals are reviewed by a separate team to ensure fairness and accuracy.
11. Education & Prevention
ReelCiety invests in user education, safety prompts, and creator guidance to prevent harm before it occurs.
12. Transparency
We publish transparency reports summarizing enforcement actions, trends, and improvements to safety systems.
