Self-Harm & Suicide Prevention Policy

This policy describes how Vibble responds to content involving self-harm, suicidal ideation, and severe emotional distress, and how we connect users to crisis support resources.

1. Prohibited Content

Vibble does not allow content that:

  • Provides instructions or tips on how to self-harm or attempt suicide.
  • Actively encourages others to self-harm, including dares or challenges.
  • Glorifies, romanticizes, or fetishizes self-harm or suicide.
  • Shares graphic images or videos of self-injury.

2. Allowed but Sensitive Content

We may allow non-graphic content that references self-harm in supportive or recovery-oriented ways:

  • Personal stories of recovery or survival.
  • Posts seeking help, expressing distress, or asking for support.
  • Educational content about mental health and crisis intervention.

Such content may be subject to limited reach or warnings to balance support with user protection.

3. Detection & Triage

Vibble uses a combination of automated signals, user reports, and trained safety reviewers to identify content that may indicate imminent self-harm risk. High-risk content is prioritized in review queues and escalated to specialist teams where necessary.

4. Crisis Intervention Steps

When we detect serious self-harm risk, we may:

  • Hide or limit the spread of harmful content.
  • Display in-app prompts encouraging the user to seek help.
  • Provide links to local crisis lines, emergency services, and mental-health resources.
  • In extreme cases, cooperate with emergency services where legally justified and feasible.

5. User Support Tools

Users can report self-harm content using the “Self-harm or suicide concern” category in the report flow. We encourage:

  • Reporting content when you believe someone may be at immediate risk.
  • Avoiding public shaming or sharing harmful content further.
  • Sending supportive, non-judgmental messages when appropriate and safe.

6. Privacy & Sensitivity

We treat self-harm reports with high confidentiality. Information is shared internally on a strict need-to-know basis and externally only when necessary to prevent serious harm or comply with applicable law.
