Friendium Appeals & Review Process

This document defines the formal process by which users may request review of enforcement actions, account restrictions, content removals, or other moderation decisions on Friendium.

1. Purpose of the Appeals System

Friendium is committed to fair, consistent, and accountable enforcement of its policies. The Appeals & Review Process exists to ensure that enforcement actions are accurate, proportionate, and aligned with platform rules, legal requirements, and user rights.

This process provides users with a structured opportunity to challenge decisions while protecting Friendium, its community, and its parent company Nexa-Group from abuse of appeal mechanisms or attempts to delay enforcement.

2. Decisions Eligible for Appeal

Users may submit an appeal for the following actions:

  • Account suspensions or permanent bans
  • Temporary account restrictions or feature limitations
  • Content removal or visibility limitation
  • Restriction of messaging, commenting, or interaction features
  • Identity or authenticity enforcement actions

Certain emergency or legally mandated actions may not be immediately appealable.

3. Decisions Not Eligible for Appeal

  • Actions required by law enforcement or court order
  • Temporary safety holds pending investigation
  • Expired restrictions already served
  • Duplicate appeals for the same enforcement outcome
  • Abusive, malicious, or bad-faith appeal submissions

4. Appeal Submission Requirements

Appeals must be submitted through official Friendium channels and must include:

  • Accurate account identification
  • A clear description of the disputed action
  • Relevant context or explanation
  • Any supporting information or clarification

Incomplete or misleading appeals may be rejected without review.

5. Review Methodology

Appeals are reviewed using a multi-layered evaluation process that may include:

  • Human moderation review
  • Policy interpretation analysis
  • Contextual behavior assessment
  • Historical enforcement patterns
  • Risk and safety impact analysis

6. Timelines & Processing

Appeal review timelines vary depending on complexity and risk:

  • Low-risk cases: typically reviewed within days
  • Moderate-risk cases: may require extended analysis
  • High-risk or safety-related cases: prioritized but may involve escalation

Submission of an appeal does not pause enforcement unless explicitly stated.

7. Possible Outcomes

Appeal outcomes may include:

  • Full reversal of enforcement
  • Modification or reduction of restrictions
  • Confirmation of original enforcement
  • Escalation to senior review or integrity teams

8. Finality of Decisions

Appeal decisions are final unless new material evidence emerges. Repeated attempts to reopen closed cases without new information may result in additional restrictions.

9. Abuse of the Appeals Process

Friendium prohibits misuse of the appeals system, including:

  • Submitting false or misleading information
  • Harassing reviewers or staff
  • Coordinated appeal manipulation
  • Automated or scripted appeal submissions

Abuse may result in loss of appeal privileges or further enforcement action.

10. Legal & Regulatory Considerations

Friendium’s appeals process does not replace legal remedies. Nothing in this policy limits Friendium’s right to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory obligations.

11. Transparency & Recordkeeping

Appeal outcomes may be aggregated and anonymized for internal audits, transparency reporting, and platform integrity analysis.

12. Relationship to Other Policies

  • Content Moderation Framework
  • Enforcement & Penalty System
  • Account Restrictions & Feature Limitations
  • Repeat Offender Policy
  • Crisis & Incident Response Policy
