Friendium Content Moderation Framework
This Content Moderation Framework defines how Friendium identifies, evaluates, reviews, and enforces rules against content and behavior that violate platform policies. It establishes a structured, scalable, and legally defensible approach to moderation on a real-identity social network.
1. Purpose & Objectives
Friendium’s moderation framework exists to balance freedom of expression, personal safety, legal compliance, and platform integrity. The objective is not to suppress lawful speech, but to prevent harm, abuse, exploitation, fraud, and behaviors that undermine trust in a real-identity environment.
This framework is designed to:
- Protect users from harm, harassment, and exploitation
- Maintain a respectful, accountable social environment
- Ensure compliance with global laws and regulations
- Provide consistent and explainable enforcement outcomes
- Support scalability as the platform grows
2. Scope of Moderation
Moderation applies to all content and behavior on Friendium, including but not limited to:
- Posts, comments, replies, and reactions
- Profile information and images
- Private messages and message requests
- Events, groups, and community spaces
- Off-platform behavior that directly impacts on-platform safety
3. Moderation Models
Friendium uses a layered moderation model combining automated systems, human review, and user reporting. No single method is relied upon exclusively.
- Automated Detection: Signals such as keywords, behavioral patterns, network activity, and risk indicators.
- User Reporting: Reports submitted by users through platform tools.
- Human Review: Trained moderation teams applying policy judgment and contextual analysis.
- Escalation Review: Senior or specialized reviewers for high-risk or complex cases.
4. Real-Identity Considerations
Because Friendium operates as a real-identity social network, moderation decisions account for the higher expectation of accountability and the greater potential for real-world impact.
Enforcement may be stricter where misuse of real identities creates elevated risk of harm, intimidation, fraud, or reputational damage.
5. Policy Hierarchy
Moderation decisions are guided by a hierarchy of governing documents:
- Applicable laws and legal obligations
- Friendium Terms of Service
- Community Standards & User Safety policies
- Product-specific rules and guidelines
- Operational moderation guidance
6. Contextual Evaluation
Moderation is not based solely on isolated words or images. Reviewers evaluate context, intent, audience, repetition, and potential harm.
Factors considered include:
- Targeted vs. general expression
- Credibility of threats or harm
- Power imbalance between parties
- Pattern of prior behavior
- Public interest or newsworthiness
7. Severity & Risk Classification
Content and behavior are categorized based on severity and risk level:
- Low Risk: Minor violations, spam-like behavior, or accidental misuse.
- Medium Risk: Harassment, misinformation, impersonation, or repeated violations.
- High Risk: Threats of violence, exploitation, child safety concerns, or criminal activity.
8. Enforcement Consistency
Friendium aims to apply rules consistently, but identical outcomes are not guaranteed for every case due to contextual differences and evolving risk assessments.
9. Automation Safeguards
Automated moderation systems are designed to assist, not replace, human judgment. Automated actions may be reversed upon review.
10. Error Correction & Learning
Friendium continuously evaluates moderation accuracy and improves systems through feedback loops, appeals data, and quality assurance reviews.
11. Transparency to Users
When appropriate, users are informed of moderation actions affecting their content or accounts, including the general reason for enforcement.
12. Abuse of Reporting Systems
Misuse of reporting tools, including false reporting or coordinated abuse of moderation systems, may itself result in enforcement action.
13. Legal & Regulatory Compliance
Moderation decisions are made in alignment with applicable laws, including obligations related to child safety, terrorism, fraud, and data protection.
14. Cooperation with Nexa-Group Governance
As a platform operated under Nexa-Group, Friendium’s moderation framework aligns with group-wide risk, compliance, and governance standards.
15. Limitations & Discretion
Friendium reserves the right to act outside predefined scenarios when necessary to protect users, the platform, or the public. This framework does not create contractual guarantees of specific moderation outcomes.
16. Updates & Evolution
This framework may be updated as laws, technologies, and user behaviors evolve. Continued use of Friendium constitutes acceptance of updates.
