Quote-Post Manipulation Rules

1. Purpose of Quote-Posts

Quote-posts allow users to share another user’s post while adding their own context or commentary. They are essential for:

• Public discussion and debate
• Critique, analysis, and commentary
• Sharing news and information with added perspective

2. Acceptable Uses

Acceptable quote-post uses include:

• Good-faith disagreement or debate
• Fact-checking or contextual clarification
• Satire or parody that does not violate other policies
• Highlighting content for educational or journalistic purposes

3. Prohibited Quote-Post Behaviors

Vibble prohibits using quote-posts to:

• Incite harassment or dog-piling against an individual or group
• Mock or degrade users with abusive language or slurs
• Spread manipulated or out-of-context screenshots to mislead
• Promote targeted hate campaigns or coordinated attacks
• Attach misinformation or conspiracy content to legitimate posts

4. Misleading Edits & Context Removal

Users may not:

• Crop or edit images in a way that reverses or alters meaning
• Quote-post with commentary that intentionally misrepresents the original post
• Use AI or synthetic media to fabricate fake quote-posts or replies

5. Coordinated Quote-Post Harassment

Vibble treats coordinated quote-post harassment as a serious violation. Indicators include:

• Large numbers of users quote-posting a target with similar abusive language
• Off-platform coordination encouraging attacks on a specific individual
• Targeted dog-piles against vulnerable users (minors, marginalized groups, private individuals)

Enforcement may include:

• Removal of abusive quote-posts
• Down-ranking of the abusive chain
• Account suspensions or permanent bans in severe cases

6. Quote-Posts & Misinformation

When quote-posts are used to spread misinformation:

• Labels or context panels may be added to the quote-post or the original content
• Distribution of the quote-post may be limited, especially for elections or crises
• Repeat misuse can lead to account-level enforcement

7. Creator & User Safeguards

While users generally cannot block quote-posting of public content, Vibble may:

• Offer per-post safety controls in sensitive scenarios
• Apply automatic throttling when abuse thresholds are detected
• Provide tools to report “Quote-post harassment” specifically

8. Reporting & Appeals

Users can report quote-posts that they believe violate this policy. Moderation teams will review:

• The quote content
• The original post
• Context of the broader conversation
