ReelCiety Harassment & Abuse Policy
This Harassment & Abuse Policy establishes strict standards to prevent intimidation, bullying, targeted abuse, and coordinated harassment on ReelCiety. It is designed to protect users, creators, advertisers, and the platform from harm, while preserving lawful expression.
1. Policy Objective
ReelCiety is committed to fostering a respectful environment where users can express themselves without fear of harassment, intimidation, or abuse. Harassment undermines trust, suppresses participation, and creates real-world harm. This policy defines prohibited conduct and the enforcement actions that apply.
This policy applies globally and supplements the Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and all safety-related policies operated by Nexa-Group.
2. Definition of Harassment & Abuse
Harassment or abuse includes behavior that targets an individual or group with the intent or effect of intimidating, humiliating, degrading, silencing, or threatening them. This includes both direct and indirect conduct.
Context, repetition, power imbalance, and coordination are key factors in enforcement decisions.
3. Prohibited Harassing Behaviors
- Repeated unwanted contact after clear requests to stop.
- Insults, slurs, or degrading language directed at individuals.
- Threats of harm, violence, or intimidation.
- Encouraging others to harass or attack a target.
- Mocking or shaming individuals based on personal traits.
- Stalking, surveillance, or obsessive targeting behavior.
4. Coordinated Harassment & Brigading
Coordinated harassment campaigns — including mass reporting abuse, dogpiling, or off-platform coordination intended to overwhelm a target — are treated as severe violations.
Accounts participating in coordinated abuse may face immediate suspension or permanent bans, even if individual posts appear minor in isolation.
5. Harassment of Protected Groups
Harassment targeting protected characteristics (race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, etc.) may also fall under Hate Speech enforcement and carry escalated penalties.
6. Visual & Media-Based Harassment
Abuse is not limited to text. The following are prohibited:
- Humiliating images or videos shared without consent.
- Deepfake or manipulated media used to harass or shame.
- Memes designed to target or degrade specific individuals.
- Posting private images to intimidate or coerce.
7. Public Figures & Higher Scrutiny
While public figures may receive higher volumes of criticism, harassment rules still apply. Criticism of ideas, actions, or public conduct is allowed; abuse targeting personal traits, threats, or coordinated attacks is not.
8. Harassment via Messaging & Comments
Harassment occurring in comments, replies, direct messages, or story interactions is subject to the same enforcement standards. Users may not bypass blocks or restrictions to continue abuse.
9. Reporting & Evidence
Users can report harassment using in-app reporting tools. Reports may include:
- Specific posts or messages
- Usernames or account links
- Patterns of repeated abuse
False or abusive reporting intended to silence others may itself result in enforcement.
10. Enforcement Actions
Depending on severity and history, enforcement may include:
- Content removal
- Temporary interaction limits
- Account warnings
- Suspension (temporary or permanent)
- Loss of monetization or feature access
11. Escalation & Safety Intervention
Credible threats, stalking behavior, or severe harassment may be escalated to Nexa-Group’s Safety Operations and, where required by law, to relevant authorities.
12. Appeals
Users may appeal enforcement actions if they believe a mistake was made. Appeals are reviewed manually. Repeated abusive appeals may result in appeal restrictions.
13. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated to address emerging harassment tactics, regulatory requirements, or platform changes. Continued use of ReelCiety constitutes acceptance of updates.
