Blocking, Muting & Restriction Rules

1. Purpose & Scope

ReelCiety provides multiple interaction control tools to ensure users can participate safely without fear of harassment, coercion, or persistent unwanted contact. Blocking, muting, and restricting are user-driven mechanisms designed to complement moderation enforcement and protect user autonomy.

This policy applies to all interaction surfaces, including comments, private messages, story replies, live chat, mentions, tags, reactions, and future engagement features.

2. Blocking

Blocking is the strongest user-level protection mechanism. When a user blocks another account:

• The blocked account cannot view the user’s profile, posts, stories, or live content.
• All existing private conversations are disabled.
• The blocked account cannot mention, tag, comment on, or message the user.
• Both parties are removed from each other’s follower lists.
• Blocking is private and does not notify the blocked party.

3. Muting

Muting allows users to reduce exposure without notifying the other party. Muted users:

• May continue posting and interacting publicly.
• Will not appear in the muting user’s feed, stories, or notifications.
• May still comment unless additional restrictions are applied.

Muting is intended for content preference control and de-escalation, not abuse resolution.

4. Restricting

Restricting is a soft safety tool designed to limit interaction without alerting the other user. When restricted:

• Comments may be hidden from public view.
• Direct messages may be filtered or delayed.
• Notifications from the restricted account may be suppressed.
• The restricted user is not notified.

5. Comment & Interaction Controls

ReelCiety allows users to manage engagement at a granular level, including:

• Disabling comments on individual posts.
• Limiting comments to followers or approved users.
• Filtering keywords, phrases, or emojis.
• Blocking mentions or tags entirely.

6. Abuse Prevention & Pattern Detection

Repeated blocking or restricting of an account by multiple users may trigger internal review. ReelCiety may:

• Apply automated interaction limits.
• Require identity verification.
• Restrict messaging or commenting features.
• Escalate the account for moderation review.

7. Protection Against Circumvention

Attempts to bypass blocks or restrictions—such as creating alternate accounts, using third parties, or off-platform harassment—are considered severe violations and may result in immediate suspension or permanent bans.

8. Creator & Business Protections

Creators and business accounts may apply additional safeguards, including:

• Automatic filtering of abusive keywords.
• Follower-only engagement modes.
• Temporary interaction freezes during harassment spikes.

9. Enforcement & Consequences

Misuse of interaction tools to harass, silence, or target others may itself be subject to enforcement. Abuse of blocking or reporting systems to manipulate visibility is prohibited.

10. Transparency & User Awareness

ReelCiety strives to balance transparency with safety. Some enforcement actions may result in reduced visibility or interaction capability without explicit notification to prevent retaliation or escalation.

11. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated to reflect new safety tools, regulatory requirements, or abuse patterns. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updates.
