Child Data & Age-Appropriate Design Policy

This policy describes how Vexor handles children’s data, applies age-appropriate design principles, and complies with global child-protection and privacy regulations (including COPPA, GDPR-Kids, and regional Youth Safety Acts).

1. Scope & Commitment

Vexor is primarily designed for users aged 13 and older. We are committed to:

  • Protecting minors through enhanced privacy and safety measures
  • Minimizing the collection and processing of children’s data
  • Ensuring age-appropriate features and design
  • Complying with applicable child-protection laws worldwide
  • Providing transparency to parents, guardians, and regulators

Our approach follows leading standards such as the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code (AADC), the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act, and the EU GDPR provisions for minors.

2. Age Thresholds

  • Under 13: Use of Vexor is strictly prohibited. Accounts may be removed immediately.
  • 13–15: Enhanced restrictions apply, including limited visibility, reduced interactions, and heightened privacy protections.
  • 16–17: Broader feature access but still protected by elevated safeguards and content filtering.

Age verification and automated risk detection systems may be used to enforce these rules. In some regions, parental or guardian consent may be required.

3. Child Data Minimization

For users identified as minors, Vexor intentionally limits data collection to what is strictly necessary for platform functionality. This includes:

  • Basic account identifiers (username, login credentials)
  • Limited device or technical data restricted to security and fraud prevention
  • No precise geolocation unless legally required for safety features
  • No behavioral profiling for advertising or monetization

All child-related data is handled according to the highest privacy and encryption standards.

4. Default Safety & Privacy Settings

Vexor enforces mandatory protective defaults for minors, including:

  • Stronger content filters to reduce exposure to harmful or adult material
  • Limited messaging — minors cannot receive unsolicited messages from unknown users
  • Profiles set to private by default for users under 16
  • Restricted visibility in recommendations and search
  • Limits on features such as livestreaming, gifting, stitching/duets, and public comments

These settings cannot be fully disabled for users under 16.

5. Parental Tools & Guidance

Vexor provides parents and guardians with tools to help oversee their child’s use of the platform:

  • Optional account-linking for supervision (Family Pairing)
  • Screen-time limits and activity review
  • Restrictions on messaging, comments, and interactions
  • Educational resources available through the Parental Guidance Center

Parents may also request copies of their child's data or request account deletion, subject to legal conditions and verification.

6. Prohibited Practices

Vexor does not engage in the following practices related to minors:

  • Targeted behavioral advertising to minors
  • Use of manipulative or harmful design patterns ("dark patterns")
  • Sale or external sharing of minor data for commercial purposes
  • Collection of unnecessary or sensitive child data
  • Unrestricted communication features for minors

7. Data Rights for Minors

Minors (or verified guardians) may exercise the following rights, subject to regional law:

  • Request deletion of their account and associated data
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request access to stored personal data
  • Limit or object to specific data-processing activities

Vexor may require identity verification to protect user safety during these requests.
