5. Trends, Challenges & Viral Content

ReelCiety may restrict or suppress trends that:

• Encourage risky or harmful behavior
• Promote misinformation or hoaxes
• Exploit social panic, crises, or tragedies
• Encourage harassment or targeting of individuals

Participation in disallowed trends may result in content removal or account penalties.

6. Editing, Filters & Effects

Visual effects, filters, and editing tools must not be used to:

• Deceptively alter a person’s identity
• Misrepresent real-world events
• Create deepfake or synthetic impersonations
• Promote unrealistic or harmful body standards

7. Music, Audio & Licensing

All audio used in short-form videos must comply with licensing requirements. Unauthorized use of copyrighted music or sound may result in:

• Audio muting or replacement
• Content takedowns
• Account strikes or monetization loss

8. Monetization & Brand Content

Monetization in Stories and Reels is subject to stricter brand safety standards. Creators must:

Enforcement actions for short-form content may include:

Creators may appeal moderation decisions affecting Stories or Reels through the Appeals System. Due to the ephemeral nature of some content, appeals may focus on enforcement correctness rather than restoration.

This policy aligns with global advertising laws, child protection regulations, consumer transparency requirements, and digital services regulations.
