Vibble Graphic Violence Policy
This policy defines how Vibble handles violent and graphic content, including war footage, injury, and other depictions of harm. It aims to balance documentation and news value with user safety and psychological wellbeing.
1. Definitions
For purposes of this policy:
- Violent content: Any media that depicts physical harm, assault, fighting, or dangerous acts.
- Graphic violence: Depictions where blood, exposed wounds, severe injury, or death are clearly visible.
- Celebratory violence: Content praising, glorifying, or encouraging harm or death.
2. Prohibited Violent Content
The following are not allowed and will be removed:
- Graphic violence shared with the intent to shock, celebrate harm, or encourage further violence.
- Violent content used as propaganda for extremist, terrorist, or hate-based groups.
- Edited or staged content that mocks victims of accidents, war, or violent crime.
- Content depicting executions, torture, or similar acts without strong public-interest context.
3. Conditionally Allowed Content (News & Documentation)
Depictions of violence may be allowed when they serve clear public interest, such as:
- News reporting or citizen journalism from conflict zones.
- Documentation of human rights abuses or police misconduct.
- Educational content explaining historical events, provided it does not glorify violence.
In such cases, Vibble may:
- Apply warnings and click-through interstitials.
- Blur previews or sensitive regions.
- Limit inclusion in recommendations, search, and trending surfaces.
4. Threats & Incitement
Separate from media, textual or audio calls for violence are covered under the Threats, Violence & Extremism Policy and may lead to immediate enforcement, including potential permanent bans in severe cases.
5. Live Broadcasting & Sudden Violence
In live formats (e.g., Spaces with video add-ons or future live features), Vibble may:
- Terminate live broadcasts containing extreme or ongoing violence.
- Restrict future access to live features for violating accounts.
- Preserve evidence and notify law enforcement in cases of real-time criminal acts.
6. Youth Protection
Violent content is subject to stricter distribution rules for younger users:
- Violent media may be age-restricted or removed entirely if it poses a risk to minors.
- Accounts primarily posting violent content may be excluded from recommendation feeds for underage users.
7. Reporting & User Controls
Users can:
- Report violent or graphic content via in-app tools.
- Mute specific accounts or keywords related to violence.
- Adjust sensitive media settings to require manual click-to-view.
8. Enforcement & Escalation
Enforcement may include:
- Labeling as “Graphic Violence – Sensitive Content”.
- Limiting reach or distribution.
- Partial or full feature restrictions.
- Permanent account suspension for repeated or extreme violations.
