Friendium Misinformation & Harmful Content Policy
This policy governs the identification, moderation, and enforcement of misinformation and harmful content on Friendium. The objective is to protect users, preserve public trust, reduce real-world harm, and comply with applicable laws and regulatory expectations.
1. Policy Objective & Public Harm Prevention
Friendium is a real-identity social platform operated by Nexa-Group. As such, the platform carries a heightened responsibility to prevent the spread of demonstrably false or misleading information that could cause physical, psychological, civic, or economic harm.
This policy prioritizes harm prevention over intent. Content may be restricted or removed regardless of whether the user intended to mislead.
2. Scope of Application
This policy applies to all content shared on Friendium, including posts, comments, private messages, groups, pages, events, usernames, images, videos, links, metadata, and shared third-party content.
3. Definition of Misinformation
Misinformation refers to content that is false, misleading, or deceptive and presented as fact, regardless of intent.
Disinformation refers to deliberately false or manipulated content intended to deceive or cause harm.
4. Categories of Harmful Misinformation
- Health & Medical: False medical advice, fake cures, vaccine misinformation, or misinformation discouraging legitimate medical care.
- Public Safety: False emergency alerts, evacuation misinformation, or fabricated disaster information.
- Civic & Electoral: False voting information, election interference narratives, or suppression tactics.
- Financial: Investment scams, fake giveaways, fraudulent schemes, or misleading financial claims.
- Identity-Based Harm: False narratives targeting protected groups that incite fear, hatred, or discrimination.
- Security & Infrastructure: False claims about infrastructure failures, cyber incidents, or national security events.
5. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited:
- Knowingly false claims presented as verified facts
- Fabricated documents, screenshots, or manipulated media presented as real
- False instructions that could result in injury, illness, or death
- Coordinated misinformation campaigns
- Impersonation of authoritative sources to mislead users
- Content encouraging users to ignore emergency or medical guidance
6. Satire, Opinion & Contextual Content
Satire, parody, and opinion are permitted when clearly identifiable as such. However, content that is reasonably likely to be interpreted as factual and harmful may still be restricted.
7. Labels, Warnings & Contextualization
Friendium may apply labels, warnings, interstitials, or reduced distribution to content that is misleading but does not warrant removal. These measures are discretionary and may evolve.
8. Algorithmic Distribution Controls
Content identified as potentially harmful misinformation may be subject to:
- Reduced visibility in feeds and recommendations
- Removal from trending or discovery features
- Restrictions on sharing or forwarding
9. Repeat Offenders & Coordinated Behavior
Accounts that repeatedly post harmful misinformation or participate in coordinated campaigns may face escalating enforcement, including permanent removal.
10. Reporting & Review Process
Users may report misinformation through Friendium’s reporting tools. Reports are reviewed using a combination of automated systems and human moderators.
11. Emergency & Crisis Situations
During emergencies, public health crises, or elections, Friendium may apply heightened moderation standards and expedited enforcement to mitigate harm.
12. Enforcement Actions
- Content removal or correction
- Visibility reduction
- Account warnings or strikes
- Temporary or permanent suspension
- Network-wide enforcement across Nexa-Group platforms
13. Appeals
Users may appeal enforcement actions. Appeals are reviewed independently, but Friendium reserves final discretion.
14. Legal Compliance & Regulatory Cooperation
Friendium may preserve records and cooperate with regulators, courts, and law enforcement when legally required.
15. Platform Discretion
Friendium reserves the right to act preemptively where credible risk exists, even in novel or unlisted misinformation scenarios.
16. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect evolving legal requirements, scientific consensus, and societal risks.
