Updating your public identity on ReelCiety
ReelCiety allows you to update your display name and, where available, your username through your profile settings. These fields control how your account is identified and presented to other users across the platform.
Understanding Names vs. Usernames
Your display name is the name shown on your profile and alongside your content. It may be changed to reflect personal preference, branding, or updates to how you wish to be identified.
Your username is a unique identifier associated with your account. Usernames may be used in profile URLs, mentions, and search results. Username availability and formatting rules are determined by the platform.
How to Change Your Name or Username
To update your name or username on ReelCiety:
- Click your profile photo in the top-right corner.
- Select your username from the dropdown menu.
- On your profile page, open Profile Settings.
- Edit the name and/or username fields.
- Save your changes to apply the update.
Changes are applied after saving and may take a short time to appear consistently across all areas of the platform.
Username Availability and Limitations
Usernames must be unique and may be subject to availability, formatting, and length requirements. Certain usernames may be unavailable due to prior use, policy restrictions, or to prevent impersonation.
ReelCiety may limit how frequently usernames can be changed to reduce confusion, abuse, or misuse of identity features.
Policy and Compliance Considerations
Names and usernames must comply with ReelCiety’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and impersonation rules. Names that are misleading, abusive, or intended to impersonate individuals, organizations, or public figures are not permitted.
ReelCiety reserves the right to modify, restrict, or revert names or usernames that violate platform policies or applicable laws.
Important Notes
- Changing your name or username does not affect your account history or content ownership.
- Previous usernames may become available to other users.
- Repeated violations of naming policies may result in account limitations or enforcement action.
